Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Jekel new Interim Managing Director

Since 01.06.2023 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Jekel is the new Interim Managing Director of KWB Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin gGmbH.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jekel has been closely associated with KWB since its inception: Together with Dr. Olivier Pascal from Veolia, he planned the foundation of KWB and took over interim management between December 2001 and May 2002. Together, they established the non-profit organisation and set the course for its further development. Prof. Dr. Jekel's initiative also led to KWB's first project, "NASRI" (Natural and Artificial Systems for Recharge and Infiltration), and he later served on KWB's supervisory board for several years.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jekel led the Water Quality Engineering Department at the Institute of Environmental Technology at the Technical University of Berlin from 1988 to 2018. He is also an honorary chairman of the German Water Chemistry Society, where he served as Chairman of the Board between 2004 and 2012.

The KWB staff extends a warm welcome to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Jekel and looks forward to working with him.
