Against the background of crucial challenges and future issues around climate change, water crises, digitalisation, sector coupling, urbanisation and SmartCity, the Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB) develops new knowledge through dedicated and practical research.

For 20 years, the KWB has been actively building a comprehensive network and working closely and productively with numerous national and international partners from academia, business and government. We take a leading role in the networks of the water sector, but also shape and engage far beyond.

We connect loose ends and link key players, stakeholders and organisations for the benefit of all. With our extensive expertise and creative ideas, we foster lively exchange and innovative change.

KWB is a water research centre, founded in 2001 as a non-profit limited liability company with registered office in Berlin. Our shareholders are Berliner Wasserbetriebe/Berlinwasser Holding GmbH and Technologiestiftung Berlin.
